SICK GL6L-P4212 – compact retro-reflective laser sensor The SICK GL6L-P4212 is a miniature retro-reflective photoelectric sensor designed for reliable object detection in industrial automation systems. The sensor emits a visible red laser beam toward a reflector and detects an object when the returned beam is interrupted. Its focused, point-shaped laser spot supports the precise detection and positioning of small objects. At a distance of 1 m, the light spot diameter is approximately 3.5 mm. The integrated polarization filter helps distinguish the reflector from reflective objects and supports dependable detection. The sensor offers a maximum sensing range of 12 m, while SICK recommends operation at up to 10 m for increased operating reserve. Sensitivity can be adjusted using the integrated potentiometer, and the operating mode switch allows the required switching behavior to be selected. The compact rectangular housing measures only 12 × 31.5 × 21 mm. A PNP switching output, 4-pin M8 connector and 10–30 V DC supply make the sensor suitable for integration into conveyors, packaging equipment, assembly machinery and material-handling systems. The IP67-rated housing protects the sensor against dust and temporary immersion in water. The P250F reflector and BEF-W100-A stainless-steel mounting bracket are included.
